P-Lee Fresh

One of Columbia College Chicago’s Very Own, P-Lee Fresh, left a legacy behind for being known as a pioneer in the early Chicago Hip-Hop movement. P-Lee Fresh was the founder of the X-Men, which is a Chicago graffiti crew. At age 18, P-Lee opened Chicago’s first Hip-Hop club, Stepps, and by 21 he had started his own record company, Jazz Child.

He was a two-time Emmy nominee, worked for Oprah Winfrey as a music director for her show, and Harpo Productions after graduating from Columbia College in 1990. Amongst all of his accomplishments, he also started a music agency called Who’z The Boss Music Library. Parker Lee Williams is a Hip-Hop legend and embodies Hip-Hop excellence, which is why Columbia College Chicago has founded a scholarship in his memory.
